Terms of Service
Effective 27 July 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Codemad ("we", "us") covering your use of the SpecFit iPhone app. By downloading or using SpecFit you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
1. What SpecFit is
SpecFit generates photorealistic images of glasses on your photo, and on supported iPhones estimates facial measurements including pupillary distance (PD). It's a visualisation and shopping-assistance tool. We don't sell glasses, and purchases you make from third-party stores you discover or link through SpecFit are entirely between you and those stores.
2. Not medical advice
SpecFit's measurements - including PD, face width, and bridge width - are ±1 mm estimates produced by a consumer depth sensor. They are provided for convenience when shopping for eyewear. They are not a medical measurement, diagnosis, or prescription, and they don't replace an eye exam or an optician's professional measurement. If your lenses require precision (high prescriptions, prisms, progressive lenses), have your PD measured professionally.
3. Age requirement
While SpecFit uses its current AI rendering provider, you must be at least 18 years old to use the AI try-on service. This contractual age requirement is separate from the App Store's content age rating.
4. Your photos and renders
You keep all rights to your photos. You grant us the limited licence needed to transmit your chosen photo to our rendering providers to produce your try-on images, as described in the Privacy Policy. You agree to use SpecFit only with photos of yourself, or people who have given you their permission - never to depict someone without their consent. Renders are generated images: they're for personal, non-commercial use.
5. Acceptable use
- Don't use SpecFit for anything unlawful, deceptive, or harmful, including creating misleading images of other people.
- Don't attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the app or its services.
- Don't paste links or submit content you don't have the right to use.
We may suspend service where these rules are broken.
6. Credits
SpecFit is monetised with one-time consumable credit packs, not a subscription. New users start with 2 free credits. Each try-on - a curated stock style or a pasted store link - uses 1 credit; the optional maximum-quality render uses 2 credits. Credit packs are US $19.99 for 25 credits and US $34.99 for 50 credits (USD; local pricing may vary), billed to your App Store account.
- Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase; nothing auto-renews and credits do not expire.
- Consumable purchases are not restorable; your credit balance is tied to your device through our purchase provider.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
7. Third-party services
Rendering uses third-party AI infrastructure (currently Google's Gemini API via our Cloudflare-hosted service). Store pages you link are operated by their merchants. We're not responsible for third-party sites, their prices, or their products, and a frame's rendered appearance is not a guarantee of how the physical product will look or fit.
8. Intellectual property
SpecFit, its design, catalogue imagery, and software are owned by Codemad and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, per the App Store's standard licence terms.
9. Disclaimers
SpecFit is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. AI-generated renders are approximations; actual products, colours, and fit will differ.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Codemad will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of SpecFit. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or US $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Termination
You can stop using SpecFit at any time; deleting your capture and the app removes your on-device data. We may terminate or suspend access for breach of these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. The effective date above will change, and material updates will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use SpecFit after an update means you accept the revised terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.
